July was a firework; beautiful and explosive

This month consisted of lots of random happenings that made me laugh, some scattered thoughts and quotes, as well as some times that were a bit confusing, (mostly battling against myself, something I tend to do and am working on)

Funny quote of the month:
"Is that Cardi B.?"- Holly
"No, that's Whitney Houston."

Some things that have been happening lately, is lots of reading books and going to the new library.
Of course random trips to target with Amber. A lot of babysitting. A camping trip to Eldorado lake for the fourth of July. Fun times at youth group. And waiting for a package to come, which is inevitable because getting what you want takes time. A few words of my knowledge, in that. And a few more below.
  • The person you need might be right in front of you.
  • If you say "like my recent" on social media it makes people NOT want to.
Battling with yourself is winnable, but difficult. Personally, I struggle with doubt which is a result of overthinking. Especially with doubting my friendships and relationships. Sometimes my mind creates problems with my closest friends that aren't even problems in the first place. Sometimes I overthink about overthinking. It's a cycle, y'all. A quote I read last week sums it up; "Overthinking is just a painful reminder that you care way too much, even when you shouldn't." That's what happens when you can't let go, and have a big heart.
But that doesn't mean it has a hold on me, because I am not held captive to anything, and God is helping me be free from doubt. I remind myself not to think. It complicates things. Just to trust God fully.

I am happy though. I am undeniably happy. And excited and nervous about things in the future. I've found that focusing on what mood you're in can help you to be in the mood you want to be. I have found that most days I am more energetic than most other moods, just because I am loving life, loving Jesus, and my friends and family. People make me so happy sometimes, just simply being around them, and having conversations can make my day or my week. Don't underestimate small acts in friendship, such as a phone call, or a compliment. And if I can say, compliment someone in person, rather than on social media. Just think how it would make you feel if someone walked up to you and said the things that they've said on social media such as "you're so beautiful" or "your writing/photography is amazing" or even "I really appreciate you being in my life." Just compliment without cause. Sometimes it's just what someone needs.

Let me just tell you a secret. You can rent books from your local library on your Kindle, and it is AWESOME. I've known about it for a few months, but I've read about 4 books that way for free. It changed my life, literally.

A book I enjoyed: Everything, Everything- Nicola Yoon
There's not much I can say about this without spoiling anything, but it's just a cute story in general, and there is a movie for it as well.

The book I'm currently reading: All the bright places- Jennifer Niven
Let me just say, this is the best-written book I've read in a while and I'm only halfway through it. Not just the story but the way it is written and the little quirks the characters have are just so well thought out. A few quotes from the book:

"Stars in the sky, stars on the ground. It's hard to tell where the earth ends and begins. I feel the need to say something grand and poetic, but the only thing I come up with is "It's lovely." He says lovely is a lovely word that should be used more often."

"You are all the colors in one, at full brightness."

On my to-read list: Love Does- Bob Goff, Harry Potter series, Little Fires Everywhere- Celeste Ng
